$6.25 Million Settlement Reached In Accident At Metra Facility
From the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin
A $6.25 million settlement has been reached in the case of a roofer who was working at a Metra facility in Chicago's South Side in 2004 when he fell through a concrete panel roofing tile about 20 feet to a concrete floor below, according to the roofer's attorney.
The plaintiffs, Luis Vasquez and his wife, Kathy, claimed in their lawsuit that the roofer suffered multiple injuries in the March 8, 2004, fall through the reinforced concrete tile, including a mild traumatic brain injury, herniated disks in his spine, a fractured right wrist, a tear to cartilage in his left knee, and a sprained ankle, said Thomas P. Routh of Nolan Law Group.
Routh represented the plaintiffs along with Donald J. Nolan, and Paul R. Borth.
The multiple defendants named in the lawsuit, which included Metra and several contractors, disputed the claimed extent of the roofer's injuries, particularly that he suffered any brain injury.
